The World Cup is over!

Presentation of the documentary film The Soccermen (USA) with director Matthew Conrad.

This groundbreaking documentary is the antithesis of the World Cup, whose final takes place on July 11. It's about two students, full of English humor, who decide to go and coach the "worst team in the world" on the other side of the planet...

An incredible odyssey in the Pacific to an island called Pohnpei, with two young, inexperienced coaches and a baroque team. Their goal: to win the first match in their history!

But behind the humor lies a deeper story. The destinies of unlikely players (a former delinquent, a Sri Lankan refugee, twin brothers who lost a brother in Iraq...) and an astonishing island where a man must not cry, speak or even feel. Soccer becomes their common language...
