School reception
The Franciscan educational service offers a wide range of visits and workshops, as well as the possibility of following an itinerary from kindergarten to senior high school.
Tailor-made projects can be devised to meet the needs of teachers and education professionals. From the initial visit to the final educational assessment, the education department will accompany you throughout your experience at Les Franciscaines.
Your visit to Les Franciscaines can take place in a variety of formats, combining visits, workshops and independent time in the media library's thematic worlds. These formats range from 1h to 2h15.
All tours and workshops can be adapted to the different themes of the Franciscaines' collections: painting, history and art history from the 19th century to the present day, literature, performing arts, cinema, photography, digital creation and the equestrian world.

Julie Manet & ses cousines
La liberté de créer au féminin

Julie Manet, Jeannie Gobillard et Paule Gobillard, trois jeunes femmes éprises de liberté, ont marqué leur époque par leur créativité dans des disciplines variées : peinture, aquarelle, photographie, musique et écriture. Cousines et sœurs de cœur, elles voyagent, peignent et partagent le même appartement pendant plusieurs années, incarnant un esprit d’émancipation peu habituel pour l’époque. Pourtant, leur carrière respective reste encore méconnue, sans doute éclipsée par les illustres artistes - parents de sang et de cœur - qui ont contribué à leur formation : Edouard Manet, Mallarmé, Renoir ou encore Degas.

Sebastião Salgado

L’exposition dépeint les relations entre l’humanité et la nature, tout en soulignant les défis environnementaux et sociaux auxquels notre monde est confronté. De ses premiers reportages sur les ravages de la sécheresse et la famine en Afrique (1984-1985), à ses travaux sur la condition des travailleurs immigrés en Europe jusqu’à la série Autres Amériques, (1977-1984), où il revisite l’Amérique latine et célèbre la persistance des cultures paysannes et indiennes. L’œuvre de Sebastião Salgado témoigne d’une vision humaniste et profondément universelle.

Rates
1-hour visit: €75 per class*.
2-hour visit and workshop: €100 per class*.
2h15 self-guided tour, workshop and activity: €125 for large groups**
Self-guided visit to a temporary exhibition: €50 per class*.
Free for accompanying adults.
*30 students max.
** 45-50 students max

The Education Department is available to help you prepare your visit. Reservations are required for all visits, including self-guided tours and workshops, by calling :

Access
Bus drop-off point in front of the building, then parking in the Gare parking lot.
For security reasons, backpacks are not allowed on the Franciscaines premises. Students are advised to leave their personal belongings on the bus or in the lockers available at the school reception desk.
Services
Accessible for people with reduced mobility - bookshop - toilets
Picnics are not permitted within the grounds (or on the terrace and forecourt) of the Franciscaines. However, Square Saint-Augustin is 250 m from Les Franciscaines, and the beach is less than 10 minutes' walk away.
Teacher's pass
40€ per year
The Teacher's Pass is an annual subscription to the Franciscaines. It gives access under very special conditions to loans, exhibitions, shows, meetings and conferences. Passes are purchased at the Franciscaines reception desk.
- Borrowing of all media library collections (books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, etc.) and access to VOD - 40 documents per quarter.
- Free access, after reservation, to numerous conferences and meetings
- Friendciscaines meetings every Tuesday to discuss collections and programming
- Reduced rates for temporary exhibitions and shows
- 5% discount at the Bookshop-Boutique
