Horses and China
To mark the Year of the Fire Horse, Les Franciscaines and the Pôle International du Cheval Longines Deauville are offering an exceptional conference dedicated to the place of the horse in Chinese culture and thought.
In the traditional Chinese calendar, the Fire Horse embodies a singular energy: power, independence, passion and transformation. A symbol both admired and feared, it has stood the test of time as a powerful figure in the collective imagination.
This lecture explores the symbolism of the Fire Horse in Chinese astrology and its meanings, the role of the horse in Chinese civilization, its representations in Chinese art and the influence of this symbolism and of the horse in contemporary culture today.
Between tradition and modernity, this meeting offers a cultural and sensitive reading of the horse in China, at the crossroads of history, art and symbols. A moment of exchange and discovery that brings people together around a passion for horses.
