Planches Contact Festival
Every autumn, Deauville becomes the setting for a unique photographic event: the Planches Contact Festival. Based on artistic residencies, it invites established and emerging photographers to explore Normandy. The 2025 edition marks a turning point, focusing for the first time on a universal and unifying theme: intimacy. The festival offers a sensitive, committed and open-minded approach to the world, combining contemporary creation with immersion in the region.
Some twenty artists are featured, including ARNO RAFAEL MINKKINEN, master of the self-portrait in the landscape, LIN ZHIPENG (NO. 223) with his vivid scenes of liberated youth, MYRIAM BOULOS inaugurating an off-site residency from Lebanon, FRÉDÉRIC STUCIN and his behind-the-scenes look at cabarets, CLAUDE CAHUN and CINDY SHERMAN, united in an unprecedented dialogue on identities.
Artistic direction: Jonas Tebib & Lionel Charrier

Alongside them, JULIEN MAGRE composes a sensitive correspondence with a forgotten figure from Deauville's history; RENATO D'AGOSTIN transforms his memories into graphic silver images; ANNA MALAGRIDA captures urban interstices; HENRIKE STAHL deconstructs the myth of the princess; and CARLINE BOURDELAS draws inspiration from Bonjour tristesse to evoke floating adolescence. The exhibition is filled with intimate portraits and reinvented landscapes, light, suspended gestures, bodies in motion or hidden in the background. We encounter the tenderness of a love letter, the roughness of a crossed territory, the sensuality of bodies or the solitude of a river that borders the city.
At the same time, the Franciscaines exhibition of the Prix de la Jeune Création Photographique, supported by Fnac, affirms the festival's commitment to artistic emergence and transmission with JÉRÉMY APPERT, SIMON BOUILLÈRE, NAÏMA LECOMTE and ANAÏS ONDET. The photo4food foundation and the festival combine photographic creation on the ground with solidarity action, welcoming DANIEL BLAUFUKS, ADRIEN BOYER, AMÉLIE CHASSARY and MARILIA DESTOT, in an exhibition where the very material of the image - collages, textures, manual gestures - becomes language.
