Claude Lelouch
Let's celebrate the 60th anniversary ofUn homme et une femme, the legendary film so intimately linked with Deauville. The film originated in Deauville, where Claude Lelouch, then a young director, regularly came to recharge his batteries. His film has become a cult classic, and one of cinema's most beautiful love scenes.
In 2006, Deauville celebrated the film's fortieth anniversary. The Place Claude Lelouch was inaugurated in the presence of Anouk Aimée, Francis Lai and Pierre Barouh
Pierre Barouh, respectively composer and lyricist of the film's famous song. Twenty years on, and two years after the actress's death, Deauville pays tribute to her in the company of her daughter Manuela Papatakis. A new square will bear her name, next to that of the director.
This exceptional day in the presence of Claude Lelouch will close with an open-air screening of the recently restored film. Extend the day with a guided tour of the film's locations as part of the Deauville, a century of seaside stories guided tour.
