A photographer in search of meaning and time to write, Franck Courtès left photography to devote himself to his first book, Les liens sacrés du mariage, published in 2022. An acclaimed author, published by Gallimard and winner of the Goncourt short story prize and the Prix Femina des Lycéens, his new passion was a hit with the public, but not with his financial resources.

The considerable drop in his income became a downgrade. After moving to Picardy, Franck Courtès looks for jobs for a few hours on digital platforms: moving house, removing rubble...
