Opéra national de Paris
In collaboration with the Opéra national de Paris, the Micro-Folie network presents a screening of Mozart's early opera Bastien et Bastienne.
Diggi, daggi, shurry, murry, horum, harum: with this magic formula and the advice of the village magician, Colas, the young shepherd Bastien can win back the heart of his beloved shepherdess Bastienne...
When he was just twelve, the prodigious Mozart imagined this charming and subtle work, inspired by Jean-Jacques Rousseau. In Mirabelle Ordinaire's staging, the action is transported to a contemporary funfair, where onlookers come to shoot the cardboard wolves on the shooting range, fickle Bastien becomes the mechanic in charge of maintaining the stands, while the twelve musicians play in their bandstand. Presented in a French version faithful to Mozart's sensibility, the opera has been adapted for immediate comprehension by all audiences.
