What is Impressionism really all about?

Everyone knows Impressionism. The works by Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir or Edgar Degas are not only famous, they're popular.

But are we clear about what characterizes an Impressionist work Impressionist work? Exploring both famous and lesser-known examples, this lecture traces the great moments of this artistic movement, which this year celebrates the 150th anniversary of its first exhibition.

Subjects, techniques and inventions will be reviewed to better understand what contributed to the creation of the Impressionist movement.
