D-DAY, 100 jours pour la liberté

Projection

D-Day

100 days for freedom

To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, this documentary brings to life the hundred days it took the Allies to liberate Normandy, break the German resistance and pave the way to victory. One hundred decisive, tragic and heroic days that made history.

"The free men of the world march on to victory! These were the words of Commander Eisenhower to the Allied troops on June 6, 1944. A few hours later, almost 150,000 Allied troops landed on the Normandy coast. Operation Overlord was launched, one of the greatest military offensives of the 20th century. D-Day: 100 days for freedom plunges us into the heart of this decisive historical moment, through a sensational story that brings to life the experiences of soldiers on both sides.

Broadcast in prime time in June on TF1, this documentary event is offered as a preview at Les Franciscaines. It traces this key moment in the Second World War day by day - from D-Day to the liberation of Le Havre and Paris - through poignant testimonies and spectacular archives, both collective and intimate.
