Anouk loved by Deauville

On learning of Anouk Aimée's death in the late morning of June 18, 2024, Les Franciscaines remembered the actress, comedienne, American Film Festival juror and her many visits to Deauville over 52 years.

In December 1965, Anouk Aimée shot Un Homme et une Femme in wintry Deauville. In the spring of 1966, the film won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, setting off an international success story.

In 1986, Claude Lelouch reunited Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant in Deauville for their first sequel: Un Homme et une Femme 20 ans après.

Some time later, she inaugurated a suite in her name at the Hôtel Normandy, since renamed Un Homme et une Femme.

Anouk Aimée returns as a juror to the Deauville American Film Festival, first as vice-president in 1995, for the first competition, then in 2004, as a member of the all-female jury, presided over by Claude Lelouch, alongside Bettina Rheims, Lio, Diane Kurys, Mathilde Seigner, ...

Back on the beach, where Jean Louis Trintignant had been calling her headlights, she returned to the boards at Deauville in September 2006, in the Mustang driven by Claude Lelouch, with Francis Lai and Pierre Barouh in the back seat. On that day, she unveiled, with Philippe Augier, Mayor of Deauville and Claude Lelouch, the plaque naming the new Place Claude Lelouch in tribute to the fortieth anniversary of the film.

In May 2007 , the Deauville cultural season invited her to reprise Love Letters on stage at the Théâtre du Casino, in a new tour initiated with Philippe Noiret and continued alongside Jacques Weber.

In 2010, in association with the centenary of Deauville, Anouk Aimée takes part in the first edition of L'Amour en Toutes lettres on February 14. She was joined by Claude Lelouch as master of ceremonies, and long-time friend Pierre Bergé, who came to read the letters to Yves. Anouk Aimée reads Piaf's passionate letters to Marcel Cerdan. In October 2018, Anouk Aimée, returns to Deauville for the third opus ofUn Homme et une Femme, and shoots, on the Planches and at the Hôtel Normandy two memorable scenes from Les plus belles années d'une vie.

This will be Anouk Aimée's last visit to Deauville.
