Pierre de Bethmann Trio
Adept of a virtuoso and joyful jazz, the pianist Pierre de Bethmann, joined here by two seasoned musicians, revisits the standards of jazz, song and classical music. With a delightful fluidity, they reinvent : Wayne Shorter, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk... Boris Vian Ravel and Paul Mac Cartney. A colorful jazz, with multiple flashes.
Piano, bass and drums, is an architecture, basic and full of freedom, which has written the great pages of jazz. This trio of curious and open musicians, seizes jazz standards, songs and themes from classical music. So many melodies that are conducive to variations and dialogues or solos with a rhythmic accomplice. This re-appropriation of known themes follows with fluidity, a succession of repeats, chosen and shared on the principle of pleasure and desire.
Pierre de Bethman, Grand Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros 2016, Victoire du jazz 2008 was the winner of the Django Reinhardt prize in 2004. He now teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.

This trio is linked by the coherence of the game...
in an approach all in softness,
emotions, vertigo and excitement.
Sylvain Siclier, Le Monde
We like it a lot.
A trio of great class
that we will not miss,
because it is rarely reunited.
