The age of forgery
On this International Day of Hoaxes and Comical Deceptions, Sébastien Boulais, Head of Education at Les Franciscaines, examines our relationship with forgeries, particularly in art and architecture.
Who hasn't marveled at a Gothic façade only to learn that it's a 19th-century reinvention? Why do we so readily rely on photography when we know all about its manipulations, from its origins to generative AI? Perhaps we've always been living in the Age of Faux!
A playful and enriching way to question our perception of truth and illusion.

Rendez-vous Friendciscaines?
The Friendciscaines Rendezvous are moments of encounter between you - subscribers, visitors, the curious - and us - curators, lecturers, mediators. On Tuesdays, we get together with friends in the Franciscaines' creative salons for a talk on an unexpected theme, given by a member of the Franciscaines team who is a specialist in the field. Open and convivial, a time of discovery and sharing around what brings us together: all Friendciscaines, all passionate about culture.
