An exceptional visit

The exhibition Valérie Belin, les choses entre elles offers an unprecedented look at the work of Valérie Belin through sixty photographs, from her first series in 1994 to Cover Girls, unveiled for the first time at Les Franciscaines.

Mirrors, objects photographed as bodies, bodies photographed as objects, portraits of live models or dummy mannequins - and more recently, still lifes, vanitas and female portraits of fictional characters - make up an iconography where the staging of "things" seems to be the real issue in photography.

Valérie Belin is a French visual artist. Her work is the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions, and can be found in many private and public collections.

On January 24, 2024, she was elected to chair VI of the photography section of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
