Stained glass

When light becomes matter

A monumental stained glass window for Les Franciscaines
Naïade Plante

On the occasion of its 5 anniversary, Les Franciscaines takes a new step in its history by inaugurating its first perennial artistic commission: a contemporary stained glass window signed by artist Clara Rivault.

Specially conceived for the site, the work dialogues with the architecture and soul of the Franciscan nuns. Between tradition and innovation, the artist combines the technique of lead stained glass with a unique process of photographic transfer onto glass.

The result is a sensitive composition of fragments, textures and colors. The leather of the Univers Cheval, the nuances of André Hambourg, the minerality of the Cloister and the movement of bodies are the inspiration for this creation. More than a play of light, stained glass becomes a living space, crossed by reflections and presences.

Installed at the entrance to the Franciscan monastery, all you have to do is look up to admire it!
