A sporty Saturday at Les Franciscaines with the Marathon du Concerto
This Saturday, July 13, as part of the Les Promenades Musicales du Pays d'Auge festival, the Concert de la Loge sets out on the trail of Vivaldi's Four Seasons to warm up for the evening marathon: the Marathon du Concerto conducted by Julien Chauvin.
Musicians are athletes (almost) like any other! Can you imagine the physical condition required of a top-level professional musician? After all, isn't an athlete said to be a virtuoso in his or her discipline? At the Concerto marathon, only athletes of their art line up: daily training, repetition of the perfect gesture, the gift of listening to oneself and others.
Strings and bows well strung, rhythm and flexibility exercises, there's even talk of taking the percussion instruments out of the checkroom and opening a workshop!
On the program for this sporting day:
11am - La Chapelle: Participatory percussion workshop (free with reservation)
4pm - Le Cloître : Marathon for juniors (paying)
8pm - Le Cloître : Marathon des étoiles (paying)
