Poster for the 17th edition of the Planches Contact Festival Unveiled
From October 17, 2026, to January 3, 2027, the Planches Contact Festival returns to Deauville for its17th edition, themed “Generations.”
To mark the Bicentennial of Photography, this new edition explores what is passed down, what is transformed, and what connects generations. Here, photography becomes at once memory, testimony, creation, and a space for dialogue across eras.
This year, eight photographers will be invited to a creative residency in Deauville to share their perspectives on the region and create new series. The Young Photographic Creation Award will also bring together four emerging artists, while four photographers will be hosted as part of the photo4food Foundation.
Centered around these works, Planches Contact will foster dialogue between perspectives and generations through numerous interconnected projects, exhibitions, meetings, portfolio reviews, screenings, performances, and workshops.
From Bruce Gilden to Cristina de Middel, from established artists to the new voices of contemporary photography, this17th edition will take over Les Franciscaines, Le Point de Vue, the beach, and public spaces to transform Deauville into a true hub of photographic creation.
