Larry Fink, a major figure in photography and a friend of the Planches Contact festival, has passed away.
We were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Larry Fink, a legend of photography and a friend of rare humanity, with an unconventional and uncompromising way of thinking.
Aguest of Planches Contact in 2019, Larry's curiosity about others and the world, his energy and generosity, and his ability to share his experience and knowledge late into the night had left their mark. In just a few weeks' residence in Deauville, he had managed to understand the town and its backstage areas, and to recreate the realities of the horse world in Normandy in an extraordinary exhibition. In fact, Larry was keen to donate these astonishing images to the town, so that they could continue to be shown.
On behalf of all those he met and touched during his residency, Larry will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his wife, Martha Posner, his family and his faithful assistants.
We still had many projects together, and we are committed to keeping that promise.
