From FabLab to model: Jeanne Lamon's student project
As part of her final year project, Jeanne Lamon, a student on a double engineering-architect degree course at INSA Rouen Normandie and ENSA Rouen, reflected on the conversion of the Notre-Dame de Bonsecours church in Trouville-sur-Mer, a subject chosen for its local roots and heritage significance.
She turned to the FabLab at Les Franciscaines de Deauville to create the models she needed for her study, using digital cutting tools in particular.
Over and above access to the machines, this work enabled her to exploit manufacturing possibilities, learn to adjust technical parameters and enrich her design approach. On-site support and exchanges with other users have also fostered a dynamic of mutual aid, making the FabLab a technical, training and collaborative space at the service of everyone's projects.
Jeanne will be at Les Franciscaines on September 22, hosting a friendciscaines event!
