An exceptional museum night at Les Franciscaines
Two icons rub shoulders in this latest edition of the Nuit des Musées at Les Franciscaines: Carolyn Carlson and Zao Wou-Ki, to whom Les Franciscaines is dedicating a monographic exhibition until May 26, 2024. The world contemporary dance legend presents his "Islands" program, preceded by a lecture on his choreographic and pictorial work, which is heavily influenced by Asia.
Program:
Conference, meeting with Carolyn Carlson
5pm - La Chapelle
A conference-meeting to explore the poetic universe of Carolyn Carlson, who today expresses herself through several media: dance, writing and calligraphy.
Islands, a program of 4 danced solos presented twice
7pm & 9pm - Le Cloître
The choreographer takes over Le Cloître des Franciscaines to present her "Islands". A collection of four short solos, visual poems inspired by nature or the human condition, masterfully performed by members of her company.
