Don't miss this weekend: the Dawn of the American Century 1919-1944 event

With Kléber Arhoul and Clément Fabre
The dawn of the American century 1919-1944

Saturday June 15 at 4pm, come and discover the life of the American people between the wars with Kléber Arhoul, General Manager of the Mémorial de Caen, and Clément Fabre, history teacher.

The Caen Memorial commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings with an exhibition exploring the cultural, social and political history of the United States from 1919 to 1944. It focuses on the life of the American people, from the triumphant return of the soldiers after the First World War to the Normandy Landings. Structured in chronological chapters, it also brings the era to life through the medium of film, shedding light on both its dark and bright sides.

In conjunction with the exhibition, curators Kléber Arhoul and Clément Fabre look back at America's complex and creative history , highlighting the tensions and crises of this pivotal period.

A fascinating encounter not to be missed! And for the more curious, take advantage of discounts on our joint passes with the Mémorial de Caen.
