Congratulations to Nathacha Appanah, winner of the Prix Femina 2025
Les Franciscaines and Livres & Musiques, the Deauville Literary Festival, congratulate Nathacha Appanah, winner of the Prix Femina 2025 on Monday, for her new book, La Nuit au cœur.
During her years in Caen, Nathacha Appanah joined the jury of the Prix de la Ville de Deauville, Livres & Musiques, in 2023. She impressed all the members of the jury when, with her great literary sensitivity, she shared with us her handwritten notes on her readings of the works in competition, preceding her vote, which was pertinent and well in tune with the spirit of this literary prize created in 2004.
La Nuit au cœur combines three stories of domestic violence based on her own personal experience. A deeply moving book, which does justice and dignity to all women victims "who have to keep a low profile".
We plan to devote one of our Franciscan Open Book events to her in the near future!
