First artist residency at the FabLab: David Legrand
First artist residency at the FabLab: David Legrand, filmmaker and digital artist, is invited from Wednesday, February 1 to Saturday, February 4 at Les Franciscaines.
With the help of artificial intelligence and a laser engraver on wood, David Legrand, artist, dialogist-filmmaker and experimenter-teacher, creates fictitious engravings of portraits of Jean-Luc Godard. Here, through his project DÜRRR, he pays homage to him by transfiguring him in the style of the engraver Albrecht Dürer. These images, transformed into xylogravures, are then printed on paper.
Between art history and new technologies, David Legrand creates innovative works that push the limits of contemporary art, combining new technology and the tradition of engraving.
Superior visual resolution and impressive quality of detail.
>> Public restitution at the FabLab, Saturday February 4 at 2pm, in the presence of the artist
