Translator and novelist, Theresa Révay, presents her first biography dedicated to the mythical thoroughbred trainer, François Mathet, who wrote one of the most glorious pages in the history of French racing. Translated in many countries, Theresa Révay has a predilection for history. She received the Historia prize for historical fiction in 2014 for L'Autre rive du Bosphore (Belfond, 2013) and the Simone Veil prize in 2017 for La vie ne danse qu'un instant (Albin Michel, 2017).

François Mathet (1908-1983) was elected best thoroughbred trainer of the 20th century. Recognized throughout the world, he remained an enigma. The young François Mathet had a passion: thoroughbreds and racing. But he does not come from the elite. He broke into a cenacle where great owners and women of character met. Thanks to unpublished archives, this portrait reveals the fascinating destiny of the master trainer, and retraces a memorable page in the history of French racing. With a lively pen, the author reveals a man of integrity and integrity, driven by an absolute love for horses.
