Serge Tisseron

The day I killed my brother: when artificial intelligence creates a photograph of our memories

Flipping through an old family album, Serge Tisseron was surprised to find no photograph that he remembered precisely. He drew it, then recreated it with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). A few weeks later, the chance discovery of the original reveals a different image! Thus begins an almost detective-like investigation into the workings of memory, but also into the power that AIs will soon have to make our most intimate memories visible in very real photographs. How will we live with this situation, individually and as a family?

Serge Tisseron is a psychiatrist, doctor in psychology (HDR) and member of the Académie des technologies. He has written over forty books on family secrets, our relationship with images, and how technology is transforming us. He is the author of Le Mystère de la Chambre claire, photographie et inconscient (Flammarion). He is currently working on AI. His books have been translated into fifteen languages.
