Raoul Dufy's literary meetings
By creating the woodcuts for Apollinaire's Le Bestiaire in 1910, Raoul Dufy began a highly fruitful artistic partnership with numerous writers, illustrating works by Verhaeren, Mallarmé, Gide and Colette over the years.
In 1920, his collaboration with Cocteau on the creation of the cabaret Bœuf sur le toit, for which he designed the sets and costumes, confirmed Dufy's ongoing dialogue and exchange with many of the writers of his time. This lecture traces the thread of these fruitful artistic exchanges.
A lecturer and trainer specializing in French literature (from the 18th century to the present day) as well as foreign literature (particularly Russian and American), Olivier Macaux is also active in the humanities, offering lectures on literature, psychoanalysis and critical philosophies.
