Anne d'Ornano
Anne d'Ornano shares her memories of the American Film Festival. A rare moment to explore the history of the festival's creation, the memory of the former mayor and faithful spectator of the festival and its first 49 editions.
Alongside Michel d'Ornano, when the festival was created in 1975, Anne d'Ornano took full ownership of it when she became Mayor of Deauville in 1977. Buoyed by her American adolescence, she promoted the festival in Hollywood, welcoming Kirk Douglas, Liz Taylor, Tony Curtis, Lauren Bacall, Clint Eastwood... and all the other actors and actresses who came to Deauville to pay tribute. By deciding to build the C.I.D. (Centre International de Deauville), inaugurated at the 1992 festival, Anne d'Ornano gave the festival - and Deauville - a new dimension and a new audience. In this first appearance on the Franciscaines stage, Anne d'Ornano shares a unique and invaluable insight into Deauville's most famous festival.
