Denis Podalydès

Actor, director, screenwriter, writer and member of the Comédie-Française, Denis Podalydès has also been a passionate football fan from an early age.

For this meeting at Les Franciscaines, he has chosen to read excerpts from Football (Minuit, Grand prix Sport et Littérature 2015) by Jean-Philippe Toussaint, an account of personal memories and reflections inspired by the Football World Cup in Japan in 2002; as well as his own text Ibra, published in So Foot magazine (November 2023), in which he pays tribute to his idol, former Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Denis Podalydès is also the author of Scènes de la vie d'acteur, La Peur Matamore, Les nuits d'amour sont transparentes, Pendant " La Nuit des rois ", En jouant, en écrivant Molière & Cie published by Editions du Seuil, Voix off (Prix Femina Essai), Fuir Pénélope and Célidan disparu published by Mercure de France.

The reading closes the 23rd "Corps et encore" edition of the Rencontres d'été théâtre & lecture en Normandie. This event has been awarded the "Cultural Olympiad" label by Paris 2024.
