Les Planches: 100 years of stories

by Philippe Normand

From their inauguration in July 1924, the Planches de Deauville became the stage for summer theater. Every summer, artists and personalities "took to the boards" to meet their audiences, journalists, journalists and photographers.

Mistinguett made it her territory, Foujita alongside Suzy Solidor was the main attraction of summers 27 and 28, Josephine Baker walked a cheetah on a leash. A popular promenade open to all, Les Planches brought together Van Dongen, Sacha Guitry, Buster Keaton and Fernand Léger at the Bar du Soleil... Then in 1946, Joseph Kessel and Edith Piaf met Rita Hayworth. Françoise Sagan meets Régine and Juliette Gréco. Claude Lelouch shot the two sequels to Un Homme et uneFemme... So many legends and stories that Philippe Normand, author of Les Planches, 100 ans d'histoires, shares and comments on.
