Don't miss: "Si l'orage nous entend" by Jean-François Spricigo

Jean-François Spricigo, if the storm hears us

As part of the Planches Contact Festival, Les Franciscaines welcomes Jean-François Sricigo, the festival's guest artist and photographer, who presents a staging of his photographic work as an ode to our pluralities. An odyssey of aesthetics and identity, cradled by the voices of Anna Mouglalis, Jacques Bonnaffé and Philippe Grimbert, and gently enveloped by the vocals of Philippe Jaroussky.

How many of us are there? And why should we fight to silence this multiplicity? The opposite of the cult of the monolithic personality that society invites us to embrace in order to assert ourselves, Jean-François Spricigo prefers to celebrate the contradictory tensions and voices within us.

After all, are we as separate from the world around us as modernity has led us to believe? The psychoanalytical cabinet in which the action unfolds soon becomes crowded, as the man, embodied by the director, summons those without whom he would have been other: Sister Emmanuelle, the philosophical lumberjack Lorenzo Pellegrini, the incandescent Marcel Moreau, Henri David Thoreau or the dog Hiko.
