Another edition of the Planches Contact Festival

This year's edition of the Planches Contact Festival opens in Deauville under the banner of intimacy, a theme that resonates with the very vocation of photography: to capture the invisible, to reveal what lies behind appearances. From the way we look at ourselves to the way we look at others, this year's event explores the multiple forms of proximity, relationships, tensions and silence.
This year's festival welcomes two major figures on the international photographic scene, with both a retrospective exhibition and a work-in-residence in Nomandie: Arno Rafael Minkkinen, master of the body-landscape, delivers a visual meditation in which the naked body becomes a vanishing line between self and world; Lin Zhipeng (No. 223), a figure of new Chinese photography, unveils a joyful, erotic and colorful intimacy, captured in the course of his Normandy wanderings.
Between established photographers and new voices, between radical black and white and sensual chromaticism, the 2025 edition of the Planches Contact Festival composes a multiple narrative of intimacy, at human level. An invitation to enter the images as if into a room, a landscape or a confidence.
The tandem of Jonas Tebib and Lionel Charrier is a decisive turning point for the festival. Their complementarity - one from the art market, the other from the press - breathes new life into this 2025 edition, conceived as a shared, sensitive and committed artistic experience.
