Congratulations to the winners, whom Les Franciscaines had the pleasure of welcoming to Deauville, a resolutely bibliophile town! In 2021, Jean-Baptiste Andrea was the guest of the Livres & Musiques festival, and in 2022 Gaspard Koenig hosted a meeting to discuss his novel inspired by Montaigne.

Winner of the Livres & Musiques de Deauville prize in June 2021 for his third novel Des diables et des saints, published by l'Iconoclaste, Jean-Baptiste Andréa has just won the Goncourt prize, the most prestigious literary award, for his book Veiller sur elle, published by l'Iconoclaste. A masterly, luminous book, to be found in the media library's collections.

Similarly, philosopher and novelist Gaspard Koenig has just been awarded the Prix Interallié 2023 for Humus, after being invited to comment on his book Notre vagabonde liberté, à cheval sur les traces de Montaigne, published by Observatoire in May 2022. Published last August by the same publisher, this novel also won the Prix Jean Giono and was shortlisted for the Prix Goncourt and Prix Renaudot. A book to discover at Les Franciscaines.
