Love in all its forms
Anne-Marie Philipe & Jérôme Garcin read
Gérard Philipe, Anne Philipe & Georges Perros
The correspondence between Gérard Philipe and Georges Perros , then between Georges Perros and Anne Philipe, consists of one hundred and twenty-five letters between 1946 and 1978. It is at the heart of Anne-Marie Philipe and Jérôme Garcin's original reading, created at the Franciscaines, to open the tributes celebrating, in 2022, the centenary of Gérard Philipe's birth.
"There was happiness there" wrote Georges, remembering their trio in the big house in Cergy. This solid, almost fraternal friendship was brutally shattered by the death of Gérard Philipe in 1959, but the exchange continued between Georges Perros and Anne Philipe, in the memory of Gérard and the happy days. It will only end in 1978, with the death of Georges.

Georges Perros and Gérard Philipe met at the Conservatoire in 1944. Perros was the friend, the confidant to whom Gérard Philipe tried to cling when success sometimes made him lose his footing. Georges Perros, however, did not like acting and soon abandoned the Comédie-Française to take up writing. This led to long periods of poverty during which he found refuge with his friend Gérard and his wife, the novelist Anne Philipe.
